I purchased model 55 of the RB3025 series primarily for the photochromatic feature. They were bought to replace B&L Ray Ban Ambermatic glasses, which are also photochromatic (and were discontinued many years ago). In terms of lens darkness variability, the 55s are definitely inferior to the Ambermatic and that is the only reason I rate them as a 7 and not higher. Concerning quality of construction and materials, the 55s appear to be on a par with the other Ray Ban Aviators I have owned since 1982 which, in my opinion, is very good.
