Choo Yeang Keat is a London based Malaysian fashion designer who is well-known for the handmade women shoes. Jimmy Choo traces his earlier endeavours in fashion industry to his workshop in Hackney, North London. This workshop came to existence in the year 1986 after he rented the old hospital building. The elite craftsmanship and elegant designs were soon noticed on the fashion circuit. In fact, his creations were featured in a record eight pages in a 1988 issue of Vogue magazine. In the year 1996, he co-founded Jimmy Choo Ltd by coming together with Vogue magazine accessories editor Tamara Mellon. Jimmy Choo's patronage from Lady Diana, Princess of Wales, from 1990 further boosted the image of the designer. Presently, the designer lives in London and is working to establish a shoemaking institute in Malaysia. His company designs some of the most high-priced exclusive pair of shoes and sunglasses.
